La enseñanza católica en la escuela primaria (Provincia de Buenos Aires, 1946-1962)

Abstract

En este artículo analizaremos las normativas tendientes a implementar la enseñanza católica en las escuelas primarias de la provincia de Buenos Aires entre 1946 y 1962, así como su repercusión en los discursos oficiales y los debates políticos. Con ese fin dividimos el texto en dos partes. En la primera, estudiamos la enseñanza católica en las escuelas primarias durante el primer peronismo, tomando el antecedente de su establecimiento en 1936. En la segunda, observamos el periodo que se abre con la supresión de la enseñanza religiosa y el derrocamiento del peronismo y los intentos por restablecerla durante los primeros años que siguieron a su proscripción. A partir de ello, indagamos en las vinculaciones de la enseñanza católica en la provincia de Buenos Aires con la política nacional, así como en las repercusiones del golpe de Estado de 1955.

In this article we will analyze the normative aimed to implement Catholic education in the primary schools of the province of Buenos Aires between 1946 and 1962, as well as its repercussions in the official discourses and the debates that took place in thelegislature. With that aim, we will divide the text in two parts. In the first one, we will study Catholic teaching in elementary schools during the first Peronism, taking the precedent of its establishing in 1936. In the second one, we will analyze the period opened with the suppression of religious education and the overthrow of Peronism, and the attempts to restore it during the first years after its proscription. From that point on, we study the links between Catholic education in the province of Buenos Aires and national politics, as well as the repercussions of the 1955 coup d'état.
