This article is based on a story that belongs to the universe of medieval India: the Brhat-Kathâsarît sâgara. In this collection and under the archetype of the king we will analyze the narration of the wanderings of the monarch who as representative and responsible for the collective destiny must fulfill his personal mission, which means the search of his deepest selfknowledge; and this will require a redefinition of his axiological structures and his metaphysical foundations. In this way he will realize his destiny and through it he might become an example and model for the current man afflicted by a disoriented world hacked by postmodernity.
