República, narración histórica y pensamiento: Hannah Arendt intérprete de la revolución americana

Abstract

A lo largo de su obra, Hannah Arendt desarrolla desde distintos ángulos un persistente interés en torno al vínculo entre pensamiento, narración histórica y política. Más precisamente, la autora se interroga sobre la posibilidad y la importancia de alcanzar, a través de cierto ejercicio del pensamiento, una perspectiva política de la historia, que sea apropiable por el campo de la praxis. El presente trabajo se detiene en un momento de esta línea de su pensamiento, situado en el libro Sobre la revolución, de 1963. Sostenemos que en esta obra es posible reconocer una apuesta por la politización de la práctica de la narración histórica, que profundiza a la vez que supone novedades en relación a la tematización de este tópico en la obra arendtiana de la década del cincuenta.

Throughout her work, Hannah Arendt develops from different angles a persistent interest in thelink between thought, historical narrative and politics. More precisely, she wonders about the possibility andimportance of reaching, through a certain exercise of thought, a political perspective of history that can beappropriated by the field of praxis. The present work focuses on a particular moment in this line of thought,located in the book On Revolution, of 1963. We argue that in this work it is possible to recognize acommitment to the politicization of the practice of historical narration, which deepens at the same timeintroduces novelties in relation to the thematization of this topic in the Arendtian work of the fifties.
