La Cooperativa Agropecuaria de La Paz ante la crisis de la convertibilidad y sus estrategias de desarrollo (1994-2003)

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es el análisis de la Cooperativa Agropecuaria de La Paz (en adelante CALP), durante la crisis de la convertibilidad. Ubicada en la localidad y departamento homónimos en el noroeste de la provincia de Entre Ríos, a lo largo de sus siete décadas de historia, la CALP fue atravesada por diferentes momentos críticos que sus consejos de administración debieron afrontar. Sin embargo, en muchas ocasiones adoptaron instancias creativas para resolver situaciones graves, evitar la quiebra o intentar un proceso de desarrollo de la empresa. Veremos seguidamente cómo se vivió en la CALP esta coyuntura y que factores exógenos y endógenos confluyeron en su estrategia de desarrollo ante la crisis. Para la realización de este artículo trabajamos con estadísticas nacionales (censos y Anuarios de comercio exterior) y las Actas y memorias y Balances de la Empresa.

The objective of this paper is to analyze the La Paz Agricultural Cooperative (CALP) during the convertibility crisis. Located in the town and department of the same name in the northwest of the province of Entre Ríos, throughout its seven decades of history, the CALP went through different critical moments that its boards of directors had to face. However, on many occasions they opted for creative solutions to face grave situations to avoid bankruptcy or try to develop the company. In this article, we will expound on how the CALP experienced this situation and what exogenous and endogenous factors converged in its strategy for development in the face of the crisis. For the making of this article, we worked with national statistics (census and yearbooks of foreign trade) and the Minutes and Reports and Balance Sheets of the Company.
