Children's satisfaction with the neighbourhood in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina

Abstract

This paper introduces an analysis of the relationship that boys andgirls establish with the spaces in which they live, taking into account theirsatisfaction with the neighbourhood and their well-being, and paying specialattention to the daily situation of boys and girls who reside in cities of BuenosAires Province, Argentina. In terms of methodology, it is a research study inwhich the quantitative method was used and the International Survey ofChildrens Well-being (ISCWeB) was applied; an instrument created by Children Worlds international research network devoted to the study ofchild well-being all over the world. We worked with boys and girls between 8and 10 years of age, during the period 2015-2018. The primary results revealthat children experience an intermediate level of satisfaction with theirneighbourhood, and a lower level of satisfaction with the feeling of safety whenwalking through the streets of the neighbourhoods they inhabit.
