Los diputados nacionales democristianos y los desafíos de la reconstrucción democrática (1981-1991)

Abstract

Este artículo propone analizar la labor parlamentaria de los legisladores democristianos entre 1983 y 1991, observando particularmente los principales ejes de sus agendas, las líneas de acción desarrolladas en relación con su trayectoria política dentro y fuera del partido y con algunos de los principales debates que atravesaron la configuración política democrática. A partir de los avances de la bibliografía y del análisis de un conjunto variado de fuentes, sostenemos que los proyectos e intervenciones legislativas de los diputados del PDC fueron nutridos por las directrices partidarias, las de la línea interna Humanismo y Liberación (HyL) y las perspectivas personales que reflejan las trayectorias construidas en distintos espacios de militancia. Consideramos que la mayoría de sus propuestas no se concretaron al chocar con las barreras que imponían su escaso peso parlamentario y las políticas impulsadas por el poder ejecutivo. Asimismo, en ocasiones, las iniciativas de los legisladores del PDC habrían sido motivo de tensiones y conflictos internos que contribuyeron a debilitar a un partido minoritario que terminó por fracturarse en 1988.

This article proposes to analyze the parliamentary work of the democratic legislators between 1983 and 1991, observing particularly the main tasks of their agendas, the relationship of the lines of action developed with their political sector within the party and in broader terms, with some of the main debates that crossed the new political configuration. Based on the advances in the bibliography and the analysis of a varied set of sources, let us assume that the legislative projects and interventions of the PDCs were nurtured by partisan guidelines, the internal Humanism and Liberation (H&L) line and the personal perspectives that reflect the trajectories built in different spaces of militancy. We believe that most of his proposals did not materialize when colliding with the barriers imposed by his low parliamentary weight and the policies of the Executive Power. Likewise, at times, the initiatives of the PDC legislators have been the cause ofinternal tensions and conflicts that have contributed to weakening a minority party that ended up fracturing in 1988.
