De la ética capitalista al posliberalismo: Mariano Grondona y una lectura culturalista-política del desarrollo liberal en democracia (1983-1999)

Abstract

Este artículo busca analizar la figura de uno de los intelectuales centrales del liberalismo conservador argentino: el ensayista y periodista Mariano Grondona. Lo hace en el contexto abierto por la reconstrucción democrática de 1983. El trabajo aborda la argumentación que articuló las inquietudes del autor en esta etapa: el vínculo entre liberalismo y desarrollo. Ello marcó una época clara de su pensamiento, que permite ver los movimientos ideológicos y los giros discursivos de un actor que, habiendo estado históricamente vinculado a la búsqueda del desarrollo a través de gobiernos civiles tanto como de dictaduras, construyó su puente al nuevo espacio democrático reconstruyendo su propia trayectoria. El texto busca realizar un aporte sobre las resignificaciones del liberalismo histórico y la propuesta de una opción liberal para el sistema político que realizó Grondona a lo largo de dos décadas, con énfasis en los libros que publicó en esos años, donde profundizó y sistematizó sus preocupaciones expresadas en la prensa.

This article seeks to delve on the figure of one of the centrals intellectuals of Argentinean liberal-conservatism: the journalist and essayist Mariano Grondona. This is done throw the context opened by the democratic reconstruction of 1983. The work seeks to address the argumentation that articulated Grondona´s concerns at this stage: the link between liberalism and development. This marked a clear stage in his thinking, which allows us to see the ideological movements, the discursive turns of an author who, having been historically linked to the search for development through civil governments as well as dictatorships, built his bridge to the new democratic space rebuilding his own path. The text seeks to make a contribution on the resignifications of historical liberalism and the proposal of a liberal option for the political system that Grondona carried out over two decades, with emphasis on the books he published in those years, where he deepened and systematized his concerns expressed in the press.
