Tiempos de crisis entre distopías y utopías

Abstract

Walter Benjamin le asignaba al historiador la tarea de apropiarse de un recuerdo tal como relampaguea en un instante de peligro quizás con el objetivo de rescatarlo haciéndolo material. El arte también puede iluminar esos momentos de peligro como en el caso de la brutal crisis política, económica y social que vivió Argentina en 2001. Como el arte tiene la capacidad de materializar lo abstracto poniendo rostros y vidas singulares, el propósito de este trabajo es examinar los modos en que la literatura elabora tópicos como el hambre, la pobreza, la desintegración del tejido social, la violencia de y sobre los excluidos.

Walter Benjamin assigned the historian the task of appropriating a memory as it flashes in an instant of danger, perhaps with the aim of rescuing it by making it material. Art can also illuminate those moments of danger, as in the case of the political, economic, and social crisis that Argentina experienced in 2001. As art has the ability to materialize the abstract by representing unique faces and lives, the purpose of this work is to examine the ways in which literature elaborates topics such as hunger, poverty, the disintegration of the social fabric, and the violence of and about the excluded.
