“Por otra parte, viajando en lo desconocido”: Teatro, cine y filosofía según Rodrigo García

Abstract

Una serie de publicaciones de teatro argentino de los últimos años ensayan un formato intermedial para recoger distintas experiencias dramáticas y de puesta en escena; ensayan formas que exceden la documentación del hecho escénico acontecido como también la escritura más tradicional del texto dramático. Se proponen generar nuevas lecturas del teatro a partir de materiales heterogéneos que pueden incluir registros fotográficos documentales, metatextos críticos, dibujos y bocetos preparatorios, reflexiones del propio artista, hipervínculos hacia plataformas web, etc. En ese marco, este estudio se enfocará en las interacciones entre distintos medios en un específico contexto histórico y cultural. El análisis investigará aquellas prácticas artísticas que generan cuestionamientos y cambios creativos al interior del medio teatral, a partir del caso de Evel Knievel contra Macbeth na terra do finado Humberto cuadernos, de Rodrigo García, publicado por DocumentA/Escénica Ediciones (2018). En su trabajo con palabras e imágenes, en sus múltiples referencias a la propia historia del teatro, al cine experimental, a la filosofía y al discurso publicitario, la propuesta de García crea una experiencia estética y de lectura que se aleja de las formas más cristalizadas para delinear otras formas, propias del teatro contemporáneo.

A series of recent Argentine theatre publications rehearse an intermedial format to collect different dramatic and staging experiences; they try forms that exceed the event’s documentation as well as traditional writing of the dramatic text. They seek to generate new readings for theatre from heterogeneous materials that may include documentary photographic records, critical metatexts, preparatory drawings and sketches, reflections by the artist himself, hyperlinks to web platforms, etc. In this framework, the present study will focus on the interactions between different media in a specific historical and cultural context. The analysis will investigate those artistic practices that generate questions and creative changes within the theatrical environment, starting with the case of Evel Knievel contra Macbeth na terra do finado Humberto cuadernos, by Rodrigo García and publishes by DocumentA/Escénica Ediciones (2018). In his work with words and images, in his multiple references to theatre history, experimental cinema, philosophy and advertising discourse, García’s proposal creates an aesthetic experience and of reading that moves away from more crystallized forms to delineate others, proper to contemporary theatre.
