De Lerina Insvla: Tradición manuscrita, textos y edición

Abstract

El poema De Lerina insula, atribuido a Dinamio de Marsella († 595 c.), celebra en dísticos elegíacos la fundación cristiana de San Honorato mediante una serie de tópicos tradicionales sobre la isla « santa » y sus habitantes. Dos códices de Isidoro de Sevilla (ms. Klosterneuburg 723 del siglo XII y ms. Göttweig 64 (78) del siglo XIII) incluyen la colección de inscripciones romanas conocida como Sylloge Turonensis; en el apéndice de esta síloge se conserva el poema – no epigráfico y no romano – de Dinamio. Esta contribución propone una edición crítica del poema a partir de ambos testimonios, ya que las dos ediciones del siglo XIX se basan alternativamente en copias de uno de los dos manuscritos : la primera edición de 1888, en una copia de Klosterneuburg 723 y la segunda edición de 1897, en una copia de Göttweig 64. Los testimonios derivan de un ascendiente en común, pero ambos textos son independientes y complementarios.

The poem De Lerina insula, attributed to Dinamius of Marseille († 595 c.), celebrates in elegiac couplets the Christian foundation of Saint Honoratus, through a series of traditional topics about the “holiness” of the island and its inhabitants. The collection of Roman inscriptions known as Sylloge Turonensis is included in two manuscripts of Isidore of Seville (ms. Klosterneuburg 723 of the 12th century and ms. Göttweig 64 (78) of the 13th century; the poem—not epigraphic nor Roman—is preserved in the appendix to this sylloge). This work offers a critical edition of the poem based on both witnesses, since the two editions of the 19th century are alternatively based on copies of one of the two manuscripts: the first edition of 1888, on a copy of Klosterneuburg 723, and the second edition of 1897, on a copy of Göttweig 64. The witnesses are derived from a common predecessor, but both texts are independent and complementary.
