Representaciones de lo judío en el teatro argentino contemporáneo: La dramaturgia de Sebastián Kirszner

Abstract

La inmigración masiva de judíos que llegaron a la Argentina desde finales del siglo XIX, provocó que lo judío apareciera representado en el teatro argentino ya muy tempranamente. Sin embargo, si bien no se trata de una temática nueva, en los últimos años la cartelera teatral porteña experimentó un estadillo de obras que abordan problemáticas judías. Este trabajo se centra específicamente en la dramaturgia de Sebastián Kirszner, un autor que ha desarrollado una poética teatral alrededor de lo judío, y que pertenece a la nueva generación de autores que han sido un importante factor en el gran crecimiento experimentado por el campo teatral de Buenos Aires en los últimos años.

The massive Jewish immigration to Argentina, that started at the end of the 19th century, brought Jewish themes to the Argentine theater very soon. However, although it was not a new topic, in recent years numerous plays that address Jewish themes have appeared in the Buenos Aires theater scene. This essay focuses specifically on the dramaturgy of Sebastián Kirszner, an author who has developed a theatrical poetic build around Jewish topics, and who belongs to the new generation of authors that have become an important factor of the big growth that the theater scene of Buenos Aires has experienced in the last years.
