Del amor sin límites a los límites del amor: Maternidades y cuidados a los privados de libertad

Abstract

Nuestra investigación se propone, desde una mirada etnográfica, contribuir a la reflexión sobrela distribución social del cuidado observando la trama de relaciones entre varones privados desu libertad y sus madres.Este trabajo analiza las tareas de cuidado que llevan a cabo las madres de los detenidos enla Argentina. A partir de un trabajo de campo prolongado, se procura analizar la perspectiva delas madres en la vinculación de los detenidos con los afectos del mundo exterior.Intentamos problematizar la noción nativa de los límites que contribuye a la construcciónde las relaciones entre cárcel, maternidad y cuidados. Nos preguntamos por las influencias quela madres creen tener en las detenciones de los hijos, en su vida en prisión y en su posteriorreinserción social.

Our research proposes, from an ethnographic point of view, to contribute to the reflection on the social distribution of care by observing the network of relationships between men deprived of their freedom and their mothers. This work analyzes the care carried out by the mothers of detainees in Argentina. Based on prolonged field work, we analyze the perspective of mothers in the connection between detainees and the affections of the outside world. We try to problematize the native notion of limits that contributes to the construction of the relationships between prison, motherhood and care. We wonder about the influences that mothers believe they have on the arrests of their children, their life in prison and their subsequent social reintegration.
