Abstract

En mi trabajo analizo la figura de la Revolución francesa a partir del Michelet de Roland Barthes y los films de Peter Greenaway. Veo las formas en que construyen una máquina lectora que se nutre de cuerpos, fluidos, escatología, libros y archivos. El tiempo revolucionario es de ruptura y de inauguración de algo diferente pero también es agónico en su devenir. Los cuerpos la viven como un estallido y la cultura se presenta como una continuidad ininterrumpida entre lo crudo y lo cocido.

In my work I analyze the figure of the French Revolution from Roland Barthes's Michelet and Peter Greenaway's films. I see the ways in which they build a reading machine that thrives on bodies, fluids, eschatology, books and archive. The revolutionary time is of rupture and inauguration of something different but it is also agonizing in its becoming. Bodies experience it as an explosion and culture is presented as an uninterrupted continuity between the raw and the cooked.
