El tema del honor, tema central en varios de los escritos teresianos, corresponde a la obsesión fundamental por la negra honra de los conversos que se había formado en la España inquisitoria. El contexto en el que vivió Santa Teresa hace que se puedan entender sus escritos en profundidad y la importancia que tiene en su vida el tema del honor y la honra.
