Damián Bayón: Una reconstrucción de sus relaciones de amistad y profesionales a partir de su epistolario (1952-1970)

Abstract

En la biografía del crítico e historiador del arte Damián Bayón resultaron claves ciertas amistades que colaboraron a forjar su desempeño académico. En este artículo intentaremos reconstruir, a partir del análisis de su correspondencia, cuáles fueron estos vínculos de afecto que estuvieron imbricados con los profesionales y en qué medida impactaron en su vida personal y académica. Como resultado observamos una interesante red de amistades en que lo profesional y lo emotivo se entrelazan y resultan claves durante los primeros años (1952-70) de la vida académica internacional de Damián Bayón. Al mismo tiempo repasamos la labor de este historiador y crítico que ha sido poco abordado por la historiografía.

In Damián Bayón´s biography, certain friendships were important in forging his academic performance. In this article we will try to reconstruct, analyzing his correspondence, the relations that were fundamental in the professional development of the art critic. We will note to what extent they influenced on his personal and academic life. As a result, we observe an interesting network of friendships in which the professional and the emotional intertwine and are fundamental during the early years (1952-70) of Damian Bayon's international academic life. At the same time we review the work of this historian and critic who has not been often studied by historiography.
