La contradicción, estructura del ser/ parecer/ conocer: Sobre el uso del oxímoron en el universo imaginario de Olga Orozco

Abstract

La crítica ha señalado como rasgo singular del estilo de Olga Orozco el uso de la metáfora y el símbolo. Sin embargo, su dicción característica está determinada también por otras figuras retóricas como, por ejemplo, la amplificación, el paralelismo, la antítesis y el oxímoron. No existen estudios sistemáticos hasta el momento de estos recursos. En el presente estudio se propone un examen de los usos del oxímoron en el universo literario de la autora. El corpus de análisis está constituido por el conjunto de su obra lírica y por sus relatos, dada la estrecha relación entre ambos. El examen estará centrado en los modos de manifestación de la figura: sus configuraciones locales y globales, sus estructuras gramatical y semántica, sus funciones y su relación con ciertos núcleos de la cosmovisión de la autora. Asimismo, se examinará su interrelación con otras figuras de pensamiento y de dicción recurrentes. Este examen permitirá rastrear las posibles filiaciones estéticas y conceptuales que justifican el uso de la figura.

Critics have pointed out, as a singular feature of Olga Orozco's style, the use of metaphor and symbol. However, its characteristic diction is also determined by other figures, such as amplification, parallelism, antithesis, and oxymoron. There are no systematic studies to date of these resources. This study proposes an examination of the uses of oxymoron in the author's literary universe. The corpus of analysis is made up of the whole of his lyrical work and his short stories, given the close relationship between the two. The examination will focus on the modes of manifestation of the figure: its local and global configurations, its grammatical and semantic structures, its functions and its relationship with certain nuclei of the author's worldview. Besides, its interrelation with other recurrent figures of thought and diction will be examined. This examination will allow us to trace the possible aesthetic and conceptual affiliations that justify the use of the figure.
