Prácticas de mujeres en sus trabajos productivos y reproductivos: análisis de datos cuantitativos en una ciudad del interior de Argentina

Abstract

En este artículo nos proponemos de­sarrollar un primer análisis de datos cuantitativos para describir modalidades de trabajos productivos y características del trabajo reproductivo de mujeres asa­lariadas y trabajadoras por cuenta propia de la ciudad de Rafaela (Santa Fe, Ar­gentina). Dichos datos provienen de una herramienta estructurada, la Encuesta sobre mujeres y trabajos (EMT), centrada en la descripción del hogar, sus integrantes y su vivienda, las características del trabajo productivo de la respondiente, el uso del tiempo en el hogar y emociones a ellos asociadas. En una muestra de 103 casos, correspondiente a los datos obtenidos en 2018, se destaca la coexistencia de ocupa­ciones diversas en el ámbito productivo, el sostenimiento de gran parte de las tareas reproductivas y el uso habitual de redes sociales para la realización de actividades comerciales. Así, es posible identificar un conjunto de procesos vinculados a la estructuración social a partir del análisis de estos datos. La feminización del trabajo impone sus tiempos y modalidades, en hogares con diferentes tipologías y la redis­tribución prioritaria de aquellas tareas que hay que resolver indefectiblemente. Ade­más, el tiempo destinado para sí mismas da cuenta de reconfiguraciones subjetivas con procesos de individualización propios de la sociedad actual. Dichas prácticas indican reconfiguraciones para resolver el dilema de la doble presencia, en el marco de los condicionamientos del trabajo productivo.

In this paper, in particular, we intend to develop the first analysis of quantitative data to describe modalities of productive work and characteristics of reproductive labor in salaried and self-employed women in Rafaela city (Santa Fe, Argentina). These data come from a structured tool, the “Survey on women and jobs” (EMT), focused on the description of the home, its members and housing, the characteristics of the respondent’s productive work, the use of time at home, and emotions to them associated. In the data obtained in 2018 in a sample of 103 cases, the coexistence of diverse occupations in the productive field, the maintenance of a large part of the reproductive tasks, and social networks for the realization of commercial activities are highlighted. Thus, it is possible to identify a set of processes related to social structuring that can be seen from the analysis of these data. The feminization of work imposes its times and modalities in homes with different typologies and prioritizes those tasks that must inevitably be solved. Furthermore, the time destined for themselves accounts for subjective reconfigurations with individualization processes typical of today’s society. These practices indicate reconfigurations to resolve the dilemma of the double presence within the framework of productive work conditions.
