El cuerpo en escena

Abstract

El presente trabajo aborda la cuestión del cuerpo, en tanto vía privilegiada de entrada al análisis de una de las transformaciones culturales más importantes de nuestro tiempo; esto es, la emergencia de la forma de comunicación virtual como pauta de interacción social. Desde una revisión sucinta de los distintos modos en que la producción científica, particularmente social, ha ido sobre el cuerpo, se intenta una crítica no sólo a sus restricciones teóricas (mecanicista, individualista, materialista y antropocentroada) sino asimismo a la modalidad verbocentrada en la forma de producirlas. El enfoque metodológico cualitativo se asienta aquí en el análisis semiótico para caracterizar los rasgos y funcionamientos de los diferentes soportes de producción de sentido considerados. A partir de este recorrido, se delinea el propósito general del trabajo, orientado a revisar las limitaciones teóricas y, desde allí, epistemológicas y ontológicas que la investigación en torno al cuerpo presenta. Asimismo se sostiene aquí, a modo de hipótesis, que desde algunas de las vertientes teóricas emergentes de pensamiento en torno al cuerpo, es posible tender puentes con tradiciones culturales no occidentales, como la cosmovisión andina, capaces de aportar un modo diferencial de entender el cuerpo, y con ello un modo −alterno− de producir conocimiento.

The present work addresses the question of the body, as a privileged entry way to the analyisis of one of the most important cultural transformations of our time; that is, the emergence of the form of virtual communication as a guideline for social interaction. From a succinct review of the different ways in which scientific production, particularly in social areas, has dealt with the body, a critique is attempted not only to its theoretical constraints (mechanistic, individualistic, materialistic and anthropocentric) but also to the verb centered way of producing them. The qualitative methodological approach is based here on the semiotic analysis that characterize the features and functioning of the different means of production of meaning considered. From this journey, the general purpose of the work is outlined, aimed at reviewing the theoretical limitations and, from there, epistemological and ontological that the research on the body presents. It is also held here, as a hypothesis, that from some of the emerging theoretical aspects of thought about the body, it is posible to build bridges with non-Western cultural traditions, such as the Andean worldview, capable of providing a differential way of understanding the body, and an alternative way of producing knowledge.
