Aterrizaje y voces relacionadas: variación léxica en el vocabulario del vuelo español

Abstract

Este trabajo ofrece una aproximación a la variación léxica que se constata entre las voces utilizadas en español para expresar la acción de distintos tipos de aeronaves al posarse sobre alguna superficie: aterrizaje, amerizaje/ amarizaje, acuatizaje, alunizaje, amartizaje, entre las más conocidas. Se exploran usos tempranos y actuales, para ilustrar las unidades léxicas que han perdurado en el uso cotidiano y técnico de la lengua, frente a otras variantes que fueron abandonadas, como así también para recuperar algunas de las discusiones metalingüísticas en torno a su adopción. Para ello, se hace uso de un conjunto de fuentes documentales, en su mayoría pertenecientes al discurso periodístico, que representan a diversas variedades del español. De manera complementaria, los datos de los corpus de español en línea (CORDE, CREA y CORPES XXI) y de distintos diccionarios generales permiten considerar sus primeros usos en español y conocer su historia lexicográfica. En su conjunto, estas voces permiten corroborar la productividad del sufijo de origen francés –aje, así como la influencia general de esta lengua en la conformación del léxico aeronáutico hispano. Se concluye, por último, que el par léxico aterrizaje/aterrizar puede ser considerado como hiperónimo de la mayoría de las voces analizadas, pero no de todas.

This work offers an approximation to the lexical variation that can be found in Spanish regarding the words used to express the action of different types of aircraft of landing on a surface: aterrizaje, amerizaje/amarizaje, acuatizaje, alunizaje, amartizaje, among the best known. Early and current uses are explored to illustrate the lexical units that have endured both in technical and daily language and other variants that have been abandoned, as well as to recover some of the metalinguistic discussions around their adoption. With this purpose, we resort to a set of documentary sources, mostly belonging to journalistic discourse, which represent various varieties of Spanish. Complementarily, data from online Spanish corpora (CORDE, CREA, and CORPES XXI) and of different general dictionaries allow to consider the early uses of these words, and their lexicographic history. These words corroborate the productivity of –aje, a suffix of French origin, as well as the general influence of this language in the conformation of the Hispanic aeronautical lexicon. Finally, it is concluded that the lexical pair conformed by aterrizaje/aterrizar can be considered as a hyperonym to most of the words analyzed but not to all of them.
