40 años afuera: Memoria, neoliberalismo, experiencia

Abstract

El peligro de la restauración neoliberal que vivimos en toda la región no es tanto que se olvide lo acontecido, ni siquiera sólo que se niegue activamente lo que sucedió, sino, de manera aún más radical, que se destruya el lugar mismo de la memoria como fibra constitutiva de la trama vital de lo común. Es en este contexto en el que se expande el alcance de las tareas de una estética de la memoria: el arte ya no sólo habrá de sostener la memoria de las víctimas, sino que además está llamado a abrir el lugar mismo de la memoria en la configuración del sentido de la experiencia contemporánea. Toda la experimentación del arte en torno a la violencia instauradora del neoliberalismo en nuestro país debe volver a ponerse a prueba ante el desafío que la violencia conservadora del neoliberalismo nos plantea. La figura del espectro se pondrá en juego como configuración ejemplar del arte postdictatorial en el que se subvierte la anestésica neoliberal y se abre una experiencia del tiempo y de la subjetividad que necesitamos como base política, cultural y moral de la batalla que habremos de librar contra la clausura de lo social que hoy se está orquestando desde todos los frentes.

The danger of the neoliberal restoration that we live in the region is not primarily that what happened may be forgetten, not even only actively denied, but, even more radically, that the place of memory itself be destroyed as fiber constituent of the vital fabric of the common. It is in this context that the scope of the tasks of an aesthetic of remembrance is expanded: art not only will sustain the memory of the victims, but also is called to open memory itself in the configuration of contemporary experience. All art experimentation around the founding violence of neoliberalism in our country must be tested again before the challenge the conservative violence of neoliberalism poses. The figure of the spectrum will be put in play as exemplary configuration of postdictatorial art that subverts the neoliberal anesthetic, and opens the experience of time and subjectivity that we need as political, cultural and moral foundation of the battle that will have to wage against the closing of the social that today is being orchestrated from all fronts.
