El trabajo y la familia como mundos imbricados: Tensiones y articulaciones de una difícil conciliación

Abstract

Este artículo persigue el objetivo de comprender como se imbrican el mundo laboral y familiar de los/las trabajadores/as formales y de qué manera esa tensión/articulación genera desigualdades que se van modificando a lo largo del tiempo. Para ello se acude a la perspectiva teórica de la conciliación familia y trabajo y se analizan las posibilidades de conciliación que estipula la empresa petrolera argentina Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales (YPF), recuperando las estrategias empresariales en torno a este tema. Asimismo se analizan las trayectorias laborales de los/as trabajadores/as petroleros/as, mirando en particular los cambios en la conciliación que ensayan estos/as empleados/as en diferentes momentos familiares. La investigación es abordada a partir de un abordaje metodológico cualitativo en la cual se realizaron 20 entrevistas biográficas a trabajadores/as petroleros/as. Los hallazgos se centran fundamentalmente en que no existen prácticamente estrategias empresariales de conciliación y en que a lo largo de las trayectorias los/as trabajadores/as van conciliando el mundo laboral y familiar de manera cambiante, atravesando una articulación/ tensión en ambas esferas de manera permanente y desigual. La conclusión central refiere a que la inexistencia de estrategias de conciliación y la articulación/tensión de la conciliación doméstica en relación a la familia y el trabajo tienden a perpetuar las desigualdades genéricas existentes.

ABSTRACT This article aims to understand the relation between the world of labor and families of formal workers and how this relationship is modified throughout time. We use the theoretical perspective of the family and work conciliation and analyze the possibilities of conciliation offered by Argentine oil company (YPF), looking at its labor strategies . We also analyze the labor paths of oil workers, especially the changes in their conciliation times in their families. The research is approached from a qualitative inquiry, including 20 biographical interviews of oil workers. Our results showed that the conciliation of labor and family are changeable throughout the worker`s path. The conclusion argues that the nonexistence of policies of conciliation and the tension of domestic conciliation in relation to family and work tend to perpetuate gender inequalities.
