Casa de patios y espacio doméstico. Cambios y continuidades entre los siglos xviii y xix, Córdoba (Argentina)

Abstract

El artículo describe e indaga las variaciones o continuidades que la vivienda a patios experimentó en la ciudad de Córdoba entre finales del siglo XVIII y finales del XIX. Para ello comparamos dos planos de viviendas a patios que datan de finales del siglo XVIII, el primero, de finales del siglo XIX, el segundo; contenidos en juicios sucesorios conservados en la serie Escribanías del Archivo Histórico de la Provincia de Córdoba. Las viviendas representadas en los planos se situaron en espacios centrales de la traza urbana y fueron propiedad y habitación de familias de privilegiada posición socioeconómica. Del ejercicio comparativo se constatará que, aun manteniéndose en el tiempo la estructura edilicia a patios, cambia el lugar que ciertos cuartos ocupan dentro de la jerarquía doméstica y emergen habitaciones con funciones específicas.

The article describes and inquires the changes and continuities that casa de patios went through in city of Córdoba between the end of 18th century and the end of 19th century. In order to accomplish this objective, we compared two house plans. The first one was made at the end of 18th century, and the second one, at the end of 19th century. Both of them are contained in succession lawsuits preserved in the Historical Archive of the Provincia de Córdoba. The houses represented in the plans were located at central spaces of the city and were properties and habitation of families with a privileged socioeconomic position. The comparison will allow us to verify that, even though the house typology casa de patios remains over time, the place that certain rooms occupy within the domestic hierarchy is modified, and rooms with specific functions develop.
