dc.description.abstract
The skull of the Amphisbaenia (Squamata: Reptilia) is analyzed in detail. The overview includes representatives of all important groups, living and fossils (referring to 112 amphisbaenian species), and the skull of several species are described for the first time. Several skull patterns are described, and bone homology, ontogenetic and heterochronic changes are discussed.
