Inmigración, memoria escrita y usos del pasado: Un análisis de las Gacetillas Oficiales de la Fiesta Provincial del Inmigrante (Berisso, 1980-2015)

Abstract

Tomando como fuente de estudio las Gacetillas Oficiales de la Fiesta Provincial del Inmigrante (Berisso, Argentina, 1980-2015), el artículo se propone analizar el lugar que ocupó dicho soporte/canal escrito en la fijación, reproducción y trasmisión de la memoria oficial de Berisso. Enfocándonos en los editoriales escritos por los representantes de la Asociación de Entidades Extranjeras y la intendencia municipal, mostraremos el modo en que la selección de distintos hechos del pasado se volvió central para construir un imaginario sobre la comunidad berissense, instituir a los inmigrantes ultramarinos en figuras míticas de la memoria local, legitimar a sus descendientes y elaborar una lectura sobre el presente. El análisis se encuentra dividido, a lo largo del artículo, en cuatro períodos históricos: 1º) la dictadura (09/1980-09/1983), 2º) el restablecimiento democrático (09/1984-09/1989), 3º) los años noventa (09/1990-09/2002) y 4º) la post crisis del año 2001 (09/2003-09/2015).

Taking as a source of study the Official Texts of the Fiesta Provincial del Inmigrante (Berisso, Argentina, 1980-2015) the article proposes analyzes the place that occupied the above mentioned support/channel written in the fixation, reproduction and transmission of Berisso’s official memory. Focusing on the editorials written by the representatives of the Asociación de Entidades Extranjeras and the municipal intendency, we will show the way in which the selection of different facts of the past became central to build an imaginary about the berissense community, to institute the ultramarine immigrants in mythical figures of the local memory, to legitimize their descendants and to elaborate a reading on the present. The analysis is divided, along the article, in four historical periods: 1º) the dictatorship (09/1980-09/1983), 2º) the democratic reestablishment (09/1984-09/1989), 3º) the nineties (09/1990-09/2002) and 4º) the post crisis of the year 2001 (09/2003-09/2015).
