La medida del tiempo: el reloj solar jesuita de La Cruz, provincia de Corrientes

Abstract

En este trabajo se presentan los avances de los estudios llevados a cabo con respecto al reloj solar ubicado en la localidad de La Cruz, su importancia en el manejo del tiempo para las comunidades durante la época de ocupación jesuita y se establecen comparaciones con las evidencias remanentes de relojes solares en otras misiones jesuíticas de áreas vecinas. Por lo tanto, se consideran dos fuentes importantes de información para efectuar el análisis propuesto. Por un lado, la documentación etnohistórica de la época y la bibliografía édita sobre las misiones jesuíticas, su organización y su historia en el territorio argentino; y por otro lado, las evidencias arqueológicas que subsisten en los sitios donde funcionaron antiguas reducciones, no sólo las relacionadas directamente con los relojes solares sino todas aquellas que pueden aportar datos en cuanto a la gestión temporal de las actividades dentro de este contexto misionero y de contacto interétnico.

This work presents the progress of the studies carried out with respect to the solar clock of La Cruz, its importance in the management of weather for communities during the Jesuit occupation and establish comparisons with the remaining evidence of sundials in other Jesuit missions of neighbouring areas. Therefore, two important sources of information are considered to carry out the proposed analysis. On the one hand, the ethnohistorical documentation at that time and the bibliography edit about the Jesuit missions, its organization and its history in Argentine territory; and on the other hand, the archaeological evidence that remain in places where ran old reductions, not only those directly linked to the sundials but all those that can provide data in terms of the temporary management of the activities within this context missionary and interethnic contact.
