We calculate the thermal radiation from a thin accretion disk around a rotating black hole taken into account strong field effects. We compare the resulting spectrum in general relativity (GR), with the spectra obtained when modified theories of gravity are considered. The spectrum of Cygnus X-1 in the high-soft state is used to impose constraints on the free parameters in these theories.
