Resumen

Polymer brushes represent a powerful and versatile macromolecular strategy for surface modification. In this chapter, we provide an overview of the fundamental notions of this branch of macromolecular science and introduce the main synthetic approaches that have been proposed and employed from its beginning until the present day for the construction of these fascinating polymer films.
