Estructura social y pluralización religiosa: un análisis del nivel socioeconómico de los pentecostales

Abstract

El presente trabajo busca indagar acerca de los vínculos entre religión y estructura social a partir de los datos brindados por la Primera Encuesta sobre Creencias y Actitudes Religiosas en Argentina, realizada por el CEIL- PIETTE CONICET, la ANPCyT y universidades nacionales. La misma avala estadísticamente la muy trabajada hipótesis sobre el menor nivel socioeconómico de los pentecostales. Nuestro trabajo se propone, partiendo de esa constatación empírica, realizar posteriormente una lectura conceptual del material estadístico y retomar algunas de las más difundidas líneas de investigación sobre las transformaciones de lo religioso y sobre el pentecostalismo para plantear nuevas preguntas teóricas y epistemológicas. De este modo, las reflexiones basadas en el paradigma de la modernización y en el establecimiento de correlaciones lineales entre religión y posición en la estructura social se muestran heurísticamente débiles frente a perspectivas que privilegian el estudio de afinidades en un contexto que combina al mismo tiempo pluralización religiosa y fragmentación social.

This work looks for investigating on the links between religion and social structure from the information offered by the First Survey on Religious Beliefs and Attitudes in Argentina made by the CEIL - PIETTE CONICET, the ANPCyT and national universities. This survey gives a statistical support to the hypothesis on the minor socioeconomic level of Pentecostals. Our work aims to make a conceptual analysis of the statistical material and then to reread some of the most spread lines of research on the transformations of the religious thing and on the Pentecostalism to raise new theoretical and epistemological questions. Thus, works based on the paradigm of modernization and on the establishment of linear correlations between religion and position in the social structure prove to be heuristically weak opposite to perspectives that favor the study of affinities in a context that combines at the same time religious pluralization and social fragmentation.
