Kuhn: ¿Una visión anti diltheana de las ciencias humanas?

Abstract

En Kuhn (2000) encontramos el tratamiento de una temática poco frecuente en la obra de del autor: las Ciencias Humanas. El texto publicado fue escrito en ocasión de una mesa redonda en La Salle University, en 1989 con el explícito título de Las Ciencias Naturales y las Ciencias Humanas. Kuhn debate allí parcialmente con la posición de Taylor (1988), quien defiende la distinción diltheyana entre ciencias de la naturaleza y ciencias del espíritu. Más allá de la disputa entre estos autores, en este trabajo me propongo examinar la posición de Kuhn en diálogo con la diltheyana, en particular en relación a la fundamentación gnoseológica de la demarcación. Sostendré que la deflación del carácter fuerte de cientificidad, que la obra de Kuhn ha consolidado frente a la imagen tradicional de ciencia natural, resulta un punto central para evaluar las proximidades y distancias entre la posición kuhniana de las ciencias humanas y la perspectiva comprensivista diltheyana.

In Kuhn (2000), we find the treatment of a rare theme in the author's work: Human Sciences. The published text was a participation in a round table at La Salle University, in 1989 with the explicit title of Natural Sciences and Human Sciences. Kuhn debates there partially with the position of Taylor (1988), who defends the diltheyana distinction between nature sciences and spirit sciences. Beyond the dispute between these authors, in this paper I intend to examine Kuhn's position in dialogue with the Diltheyana, particularly in relation to the gnoseological foundation of the demarcation. I will argue that the deflation of the strong scientific character, which Kuhn's work has consolidated against the traditional image of natural science, is a central point for assessing the proximity and distance between the Kuhnian position of human sciences and the Diltheyan comprehensive understanding.
