¿Jóvenes/consagrados? Productores distinguidos en la galería cordobesa Gutiérrez y Aguad y Domingo Biffarella durante los primeros años ochenta

Abstract

En el presente trabajo exploraremos los modos de visibilidad que adquirieron los llamados “jóvenes artistas” y las denominadas “artes jóvenes” en una entidad hegemónica del contexto provincial de la década de 1980: la galería Gutiérrez y Aguad y Domingo Biffarella. La elección de esta institución se fundamenta en que los eventos de “arte joven” obtuvieron en ella una destacada fecundidad en comparación con los demás entes comerciales. A su vez, Domingo Biffarella deviene un agente central de la época ya que, además de ser socio propietario de la mencionada galería, trabajaba como crítico de arte en el diario La Voz del Interior y como director del Museo Municipal “Genaro Pérez”. De acuerdo con ello, considero que la indagación de este organismo puede ofrecernos importantes aportes tanto de las dinámicas particulares de las interacciones comerciales como de las modalidades generales de distinción de productores en el escenario plástico de Córdoba. Cabe agregar que dichas pesquisas serán abordadas desde un enfoque Material Culturalista y recurriremos a periódicos como fuentes históricas prioritarias.

In the present work we will explore the ways of visibility that acquired the “youth artists” and the so called “Young Arts” in one hegemonic entity in the provincial context in the 80s: Gutiérrez y Aguad y Domingo Biffarella’s art gallery. The choice for this institution is founded on the basis that all the events of the “Young Art” got in it great relevance compared to other commercial institutions. Besides, Domingo Biffarella had a very important role at that time because not only he was an associated owner of the mentioned art gallery but also worked as an Art critic for the La Voz del Interior newspaper and as director of the “Genaro Pérez” town hall museum. Consequently, I personally consider that further research of this organization may provide us with important data about particular dynamics of business interactions and general modalities of distinction of the producers in the cordobese arts realm. Finally, we should say that the mentioned research will be treated according to the Cultural Marxism approach and that we will resort to newspapers as historical priority sources.
