Aire de Familia: performances, fotografía y procesos de subjetivación nacional en Argentina

Abstract

Al organizar el tiempo, el espacio, los gestos, las emociones, los estímulos estéticos, el Estado se forma a sí mismo y forma las subjetividades que lo habitan. Parte de esta magia performativa consiste en borronear el carácter social e históricamente producido del Estado, la Nación, la Patria y presentarse a sí mismo como eterno, natural, necesario y trascendente. ¿Cómo se aprenden los sentimientos patrióticos? ¿Cuál es la participación de las imágenes en este proceso? Para explorar estas cuestiones nos referiremos a performances escolares destinadas a celebrar las fechas destacadas del calendario oficial en Argentina llamadas “actos escolares” y a las fotografías que tomaban los padres de los escolares dando lugar a una colección de imágenes patrióticas que se incorporaban al álbum familiar.

By organizing time, space, gestures, emotions, aesthetic stimuli, the State form itself and the subjectivities that inhabit it. Part of the performative magic of the State is found in the power to blur the social and historically production of the State, the Nation, and the Fatherland, and present them as eternal, natural, necessary and important entities. How patriotic feelings are learned? What is the involvement of the images in this process? To explore these issues we will refer to school performances designed to celebrate the important days of the official calendar in Argentina called "actos escolares" and the photographs taken by the parents as part of a collection of patriotic images incorporated into a family album.
