Catolicismo y familia en nuestro país: Un mojón para su abordaje

Abstract

En el marco del Proyecto “Estrategias de Producción y Reproducción Social de las Familias en Argentina: Trabajo, Educación, Religión y Salud en contextos sociales y territoriales heterogéneos” se sostiene que la relación entre familia, trabajo y creencias constituye un núcleo fundamental para la caracterización, comprensión y explicación de la vida en sociedad. Al respecto, las Ciencias Sociales desde sus orígenes han centrado sus análisis en la familia por constituir el núcleo fundamental sobre el que se caracteriza, comprende y explica la vida en sociedad. Si pensamos en la articulación familia y religión, la familia resulta el dispositivo central de reproducción social y, por ende, de transmisión religiosa, donde lo religioso ocupa un lugar diferencial para generar cohesión en las unidades domésticas. Teniendo en cuenta lo dicho, uno de los mojones que han revisado las Ciencias Sociales locales para pensar el par familia y religión desde una articulación en particular: Catolicismo - Peronismo. En esta ocasión en particular, sin perder de vista a la familia, nos centraremos en un análisis crítico de qué lugar ocupa la familia - como institución - en la relación entre la Iglesia Católica (IC) y los dos primeros Gobiernos Peronistas. Para llevar adelante el cometido, en primer lugar se hará un breve raconto sobre los estudios de catolicismo en nuestro país, en segundo lugar, se expondrán de manera crítica los estudios sobre lo que se considera un gran mojón de los estudios de familia y religión en nuestro país: la relación entre peronismo e IC. Por último, se expondrán reflexiones finales para pensar el contexto actual.

Within the framework of the Project “Strategies for the Production and Social Reproduction of Families in Argentina: Work, Education, Religion and Health in heterogeneous social and territorial contexts” it is argued that the relationship between family, work and beliefs constitutes a fundamental nucleus for characterization, understanding and explanation of life in society. In this regard, the Social Sciences from their origins have focused their analyzes on the family because they constitute the fundamental nucleus on which life in society is characterized, understood and explained. If we think about the articulation of family and religion, the family is the central device of social reproduction and, therefore, of religious transmission, where the religious occupies a differential place to generate cohesion in domestic units. Taking into account what has been said, one of the landmarks that the local Social Sciences have reviewed to think about the family and religion pair from a particular articulation: Catholicism - Peronism. On this particular occasion, without losing sight of the family, we will focus on a critical analysis of the family’s place - as an institution - in the relationship between the Catholic Church (IC) and the first two Peronist Governments. In order to carry out the task, firstly, a brief discussion will be made on the studies of Catholicism in our country, secondly, the studies on what is considered a great landmark of family and religion studies in our country: the relationship between Peronism and IC. Finally, final reflections will be presented to think about the current context.
