Topografías de la desintegración: Sobre Absolut Röntgen, de Abel Fernández Larrea

Abstract

El artículo sitúa Absolut Röntgen, el libro de relatos de Abel Fernández Larrea que transcurre en torno al accidente de Chernóbil en 1986, en una serie de producciones de la literatura cubana de los años noventa que exploran el Este y el paisaje postcomunista, y propone delinear sus modulaciones. En tanto integrante de la Generación Cero, la obra de Abel Fernández Larrea recupera el archivo soviético con el fin de provocar una literatura desidentificada del territorio y la tradición literaria nacional. Tal movimiento se ve acompañado, en los cuentos, por una orientación hacia la desintegración y el extrañamiento, en tensión con cualquier voluntad documentalista o exotista.

This article reads Absolut Röntgen, the book of stories about Chernobyl by Abel Fernández Larrea, as part of the Cuban literature of the nineties that explore the East and post-communist landscape. As a member of the “Generación Cero”, the work of Abel Fernández Larrea recovers the Soviet archive in order to write a literature no longer identified with the territory of the nation and its literary tradition. In these stories, Fernández Larrea privileges disintegration and estrangement, and systematically avoids both the tendency to write in a documentary or an exoticizing fashion.
