Almacenamiento de semillas de Peltophorum Dubium (Spreng) Taub Fabaceae

Abstract

Peltophorum dubium es un árbol de la familia Fabaceae, nativa de Argentina. Es una especie de crecimiento rápido, heliófila, que soporta temperaturas suaves. Debido a la degradación y fragmentación que sufren los bosques en la actualidad, se planteó el estudio de las condiciones de almacenamiento de las semillas de esta especie, ya que, debido a sus características, es indicada para la restauración de bosques. En este trabajo, se evaluó la viabilidad de sus semillas, sometidas a diferentes condiciones y tiempo de almacenamiento. Para llevar a cabo el estudio se recolectaron frutos de tres árboles semilleros diferentes, ubicados en las inmediaciones de la ciudad de Corrientes. El ensayo de laboratorio consistió en separar las semillas de las vainas y realizar la homogenización de las semillas obtenidas, mezclándolas. Posteriormente, se separaron las semillas en 5 lotes de 100 ±120 semillas y se colocaron en bolsas plásticas herméticas. A cada lote se le aplicó un tratamiento distinto, resultante de la interacción de tiempo (3 y 6 meses) y lugar de almacenamiento (armario y heladera), más el lote testigo. Se armaron germinadores y se ubicaron en ellos las semillas. Diariamente se registró el poder germinativo de las mismas. El análisis de los datos obtenidos en las mediciones de germinación se llevó a cabo luego de calcular los valores de poder germinativo promedio (PGP) de cada lote. Se graficaron los resultados obtenidos y los datos fueron analizados mediante un análisis de la varianza (ANOVA), con posterior Test Post ANOVA (Test de Tukey). De acuerdo a los datos obtenidos mediante este estudio, pudimos observar un mayor PGP en el lote al que se le aplicó el tratamiento heladera durante 6 meses. El menor PGP observado fue el del lote al que se le aplicó el tratamiento armario durante 3 meses.

Peltophorum dubium is a tree of the Fa- baceae family, native of Argentina. It’s a fast growth specie, heliophil, that supports soft temperatures. Because of the degradation and fragmentation that forest undergoes at present, the study of the conditions of storage of the seeds of this species was raised, because its suitable for the restoration of the forests. In this work we evaluated the viability of their seeds submitted to different conditions and storage time. To carry out the study, fruits of three diffe- rent trees were collected, located in the surroun- dings of the city of Corrientes. The laboratory test consisted in separating the seeds from the pods and homogenizing the seeds, mixing them. Subsequently, the seeds were separated into 5 batches of 100 ± 120 seeds and placed in hermetic plastic bags. A different treatment was applied to each batch, resulting from the interaction of time (3 and 6 months) and place of storage (locker and fridge), plus the control batch. Germinators were elaborated and seeds were placed in them. The germinative power of the same was registered daily. The analysis of the data obtained in the germination measurements was carried out after calculating the values of average ger- minative power (PGP) of each batch. The re- sults obtained were plotted and the data were analyzed by means of an analysis of variance (ANOVA), with subsequent Post ANOVA Test (Tukey test). According to the data obtained through this study, we were able to observe a higher PGP in the batch to which the fridge treatment was applied during 6 months. The minor PGP observed in the batch to which the locker treatment was applied for 3 months.
