Políticas lingüísticas y diversidad cultural: Aportes del Consejo Wichí Lhämtes a la promoción de la lengua wichí

Abstract

Este artículo tiene por objetivo caracterizar las decisiones y acciones llevadas a cabo por el ConsejoWichí Lhämtes (Consejo de la Lengua Wichí) desde 2018 hasta la fecha, en favor de la promoción dela lengua wichí. La introducción contiene la perspectiva teórica y metodológica de la investigación.El primer apartado presenta la situación de las lenguas indígenas en Argentina, el Norte Grande ySalta. El segundo apartado describe al pueblo y la lengua wichí. El proceso de creación del AlfabetoUnificado y el surgimiento del Consejo Wichí Lhämtes (CWLh) son descritos en el tercer apartado. Porúltimo, el cuarto apartado presenta los dos proyectos que el CWLh gestiona actualmente: la solicitudde oficialización de la lengua wichí en la provincia de Salta y el proyecto de formación de intérpretespara el sistema judicial. En el cierre se destacan los aportes de este colectivo para el trazado de políticas lingüísticas en contextos de diversidad cultural.

This article aims to characterize the decisions and actions carried out by the Wichí Lhämtes Council (Wichí Language Council) since 2018 until today, in favor of the promotion of the Wichí language. The introduction contains the theoretical and methodological perspective of the research. The first section presents the situation of indigenous languages in Argentina, the Norte Grande and Salta. The second section describes the people and the Wichí language. The process of creating the Unified Alphabet and the emergence of the Wichí Lhämtes Council (CWLh) are described in the third section. Finally, the fourth section presents the two projects that the CWLh currently manages: the request for officialization of the Wichí language in the province of Salta and the project to train interpreters for the judicial system. The closing highlights the contributions of this group for the design of linguistic policies in contexts of cultural diversity.
