Este texto analiza algunas de las imágenes más difundidas de dos gauchos rebeldes santificados del Nordeste argentino: el Gauchito Antonio Gil e Isidro Velázquez. El artículo se pregunta cómo una serie de estampitas, monumentos y producciones audiovisuales cristalizan y resignifican fórmulas del pathos y fragmentos de representaciones simbólicas, altamente performativos. El estudio indaga en la "supervivencia" y el poder de las iconografías paradigmáticas históricas en los repertorios visuales contemporáneos de sacralizaciones populares.

The text analyzes some of the most widespread images of two sanctified rebel gauchos from the Northeast of Argentina: Gauchito Antonio Gil and Isidro Velázquez. It asks how the stamps, monuments and audiovisual productions crystallize and resignify formulas of pathos and fragments of highly performative symbolic representations. The reflection examines the "survival" and the power of historical paradigmatic iconographies in contemporary visual repertoires of popular sacralizations.
