Científicos y públicos: El sabor del encuentro

Abstract

Los contenidos que conforman este libro -y también sus autores- formaron parte de un ciclo de encuentros en el que se asumió el compromiso de comunicar ciencia. En ese marco, se concretaron reuniones diversas, sobre temas diversos, para públicos diversos y en ámbitos también diversos. Se generaron en la ciudad espacios de diálogo entre los científicos y los públicos interesados en conocer los resultados y temas de investigación. Los científicos hicieron su parte. Aceptaron la invitación, pensaron qué contar, cómo contarlo y efectivamente narraron sus historias con ilusión y entusiasmo. Además, volvieron a contarlas por escrito en este libro. Interesa en este capítulo volver la mirada hacia quienes oyeron los relatos, hacia los públicos y audiencias diversas que en respuesta a una invitación, por curiosidad, por casualidad o por genuino interés, asistieron a los encuentros ¿Cómo valoraron la posibilidad de interactuar con los investigadores? ¿Qué conocimientos, preguntas o impresiones se llevaron de los encuentros? ¿Qué motivaciones los llevaron a estar presentes y participar de la convocatoria? ¿En qué contextos interactuaron con los científicos? Haremos foco en el encuentro entre públicos y científicos, entre la gente y la ciencia, en un intento de obtener conocimiento que sirva de retroalimentación para la mejora continua del ciclo.

The contents in this book -and also its authors- were part of a cycle of meetings in which the commitment to communicate science was assumed. Within this framework, various meetings were held, on different topics, for different audiences and in different areas. Dialogue spaces were created in the city between the scientists and the public interested in knowing the results and research topics. Scientists did their part. They accepted the invitation, thought what to tell, how to tell it and effectively told their stories with enthusiasm. In addition, they recounted in writing in this book. In this chapter it is interesting to turn our eyes to those who heard the stories, to the audiences who, in response to an invitation, out of curiosity, by chance or by genuine interest, attended the meetings ¿How they valued the possibility of interacting with the researchers? ¿What knowledge, questions or impressions were taken from the meetings? ¿What motivations led them to be present and participate in the meetings? ¿In what contexts did they interact with scientists? We will focus on the encounter between public and scientists, between people and science, in an attempt to obtain knowledge that serves as feedback for the continuous improvement of the cycle.
