De la costa al interior: caminos, paisajes y redes trashumantes en el noreste de la Patagonia

Abstract

En este artículo se presenta un relato etnográfico sobre el viaje de un equipo transdisciplinario por las rutas del noreste de la Patagonia. Se describen las huellas recorridas por la costa atlántica y los caminos esteparios que bordean la meseta del Somuncurá, a partir de una hipótesis que vincula ambas regiones a través de las trayectorias de los recolectores pulperos. El registro etnográfico se combina con documentos y con la reconstrucción de la densidad histórica de las rastrilladas indígenas. Se plantea que los caminos y paisajes se articulan por medio de las biografías trashumantes, más allá de las transformaciones impuestas por las lógicas viales del Estado-nación y el mercado.

This study presents an ethnographic report on the travel of a transdisciplinary team through the roads of the Northeastern portion of Patagonia. The paths traveled along the Atlantic coast and bordering the Somuncurá Plateau are described, starting with a hypothesis that connects both regions —the coast and the steppe— through the life trajectories of octopus coastal gatherers. The ethnographic record is combined with archive documents and with the reconstruction of the historical density of ancient indigenous paths. The study proposes that roads and landscapes are articulated through the transhumant biographies, beyond the transformations imposed by the road logic of the State and the market.
