El premio a los extranjeros: Salón nacional (1918-1930)

Abstract

El siguiente artículo tiene como objeto de análisis el premio a los artistas extranjeros otorgado en el Salón Nacional entre 1918 y 1930. A partir de la comparación de las normativas de las distintas ediciones del certamen y la reconstrucción de los premios, buscaremos identificar la función y el sentido del galardón al interior del Salón. Esta indagación será enmarcada en el contexto de los debates estéticos y la dinámica del campo artístico argentino de principios del siglo XX.

The following article will analyze the award to the foreign artists granted in the National Salon between 1918 and 1930. By comparing the regulations of the different editions of the contest and the identification of the award-winning works, we will identify the function and sense of the award inside the Salon. This inquiry will be framed in the context of the aesthetic debates and the dynamics of the Argentine artistic field at the beginning of the 20th century.
