Experiencias de paternidad en barrios pobres y vulnerables de Buenos Aires

Abstract

A partir de una investigación que combinó el método etnográfico con observaciones y entrevistasinformales y semiestructuradas a 37 padres, todos residentes de un barrio pobre y vulnerable del ÁreaMetropolitana de Buenos Aires y la realización de una encuesta coincidental a 107 padres del mismo barrio,describo y analizo en este texto las variaciones intrapaternales con distintos hijos/as. Sostengo que lasexperiencias y el ejercicio de las paternidades en contextos marginales y vulnerables muchas veces conformaun mosaico diverso y ecléctico en el cual la relación con cada hijo/a es distinta y cambiante. Se trata de unaheterogeneidad intrapersonal de las formas de paternar bajo un mismo horizonte normativo de la paternidad,el cual, a su vez, se encuentra cuestionado por los discursos sociales e institucionales.

In this text I describe and analyze the intra-paternal variations with different children, drawn from an investigation that combined the ethnographic method together with observations and informal and semi-structured interviews to 37 parents, all residents of the same poor and vulnerable neighborhood of the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires, and the realization of a coincidental survey to 107 parents of the same neighborhood. I argue that the forms of exercising paternity are found in marginal and vulnerable contexts, often forming a diverse and eclectic mosaic in the same father with different children. It is an intrapersonal heterogeneity of the paternal forms under the same normative horizon of paternity which, in turn, is questioned by social and institutional discourses.
