El Estado como gran agente educativo del “sistema educativo” estadounidense entre los años 1840 y 1981: gobierno, administración y dependencia

Abstract

Mediante un rastreo bibliográfico, proponemos analizar agentes educativos, gobierno, administración y dependencia en el “sistema educativo” de los Estados Unidos entre 1840 y 1981. Pretendemos identificar los vínculos establecidos entre los niveles federal, estadual y distrital sobre asuntos educativos; reconocer el papel del Estado y su relación con otros agentes educativos en la administración del “sistema educativo” estadounidense; y pensar ello, en relación al contexto nacional e internacional. Abarcamos desde el inicio del “sistema educativo” (década de 1840) hasta la presidencia de Regan, antecedente principal del neoliberalismo (1981). Concluimos que el Estado es el agente educativo por excelencia, ya que desde el inicio triunfa sobre la Iglesia, y luego, ocupa un lugar central en las cuestiones educativas.

Through a bibliographic search, we propose to analyze educational agents, government, administration and dependency in the "educational system" of the United States between 1840 and 1981. We intend to identify the links established between the federal, state and district levels on educational matters; recognize the role of the State and its relationship with other educational agents in the administration of the American “educational system”; and think about it, in relation to the national and international context. We cover from the beginning of the "educational system" (1840s) to the presidency of Regan, the main antecedent of neoliberalism (1981). We conclude that the State is the educational agent par excellence, since from the beginning it triumphs over the Church, and later, it occupies a central place in educational matters.
