Importancia de los sitios geológicos para el desarrollo del Turismo centífico y la conectividad regional en Chubut

Abstract

Si bien el principal atractivo de la Provincia del Chubut es el turismo de naturaleza, la región cuenta además con un valioso patrimonio científico y cultural, representado en varios sitios de interés geológico, entre otras disciplinas. A pesar de su distanciamiento geográfico y menor demografía en comparación con otras provincias del centro del país, Chubut es la tercer provincia con mayor cantidad de investigadores por cantidad de habitantes a nivel nacional, ofreciendo un escenario ideal para la integración de las ciencias con la actividad turística a través de la incorporación del conocimiento como valor agregado y como una forma de una mayor apertura yllegada de las ciencias geológicas a la comunidad. Esta asociación entre turismo y ciencia no sólo fomenta la conectividad regional, sino que aborda el territorio político sugiere una posible y factible salida laboral para loshabitantes de pueblos y comunas que hoy no cuentan con puestos laboralesgenuinos fuera de la esfera del estado o del campo. Por su parte, la mayoría delos potenciales atractivos geológicos del Chubut, se encuentran emplazados enzonas alejadas geográficamente de los mayores centros urbanos de la provincia. En éste sentido el presente trabajo aborda el diseño y desarrollo de una Ruta turística Geológica Provincial con intenciones de fomentar la actividad del turismo científico y brindar a la vez conectividad geográfica a la región.

Although the main attraction of the Chubut Province is nature tourism, the region also has a valuable scientific and cultural heritage, represented in several sites of geological interest, among other disciplines. Despite its geographic distance and lower demography compared to other provinces in the center of the country, Chubut is the third province with the highest number of researchers per habitant, offering an ideal scenario for the integration of the sciences with tourism through the incorporation of knowledge as added value and as a way to encourage greater openness and arrival of the geological sciences to the community. This association between tourism and science not only promotes regional connectivity, but also addresses the political territory and suggests a possible and feasible job for the people in towns and communes that today do not have genuine employment positions outside the state or the countryside. Most of the potential geological attractions of Chubut are located in geographically remote areas of the largest urban centers in the province. In this sense, the present work deals with the design and development of a Provincial Geological Tourist Route with intentions to promote the activity of scientific tourism and provide geographic connectivity to the region.
