Square integrable representations of reductive lie groups with admissible restriction to SL2(R)

Abstract

In this note we determine the irreducible square integrable rep-resentations of a reductive connected Lie group which admit an Hadmissiblerestriction to a subgroup H locally isomorphic to SL2pRq . We show that sucha representation is holomorphic and we determine the essentially unique H withthis property as well as multiplicity formulae.
