Variación regional en el uso de “dale” marcador discursivo: Estudio del contexto de aceptación

Abstract

La propuesta globalizadora de la Pragmática variacional (Schneider y Barron 2008), coincide con el Enfoque Cognitivo-prototípico (en la línea de Langacker 1987 y Lakoff 1987), en especial, en lo referente a la determinación cultural y situacional de la elección de las formas y a la dependencia discursiva de la gramática. En ese marco, se cuantifican y describen los contextos de uso de “dale” marcador discursivo (MD), en distintos países del mundo hispanohablante. Según la frecuencia de aparición, se aislaron dos contextos en variación: aceptación/acuerdo e instar a realizar una acción. Estos contextos se describen opositivamente. Se trata con más detenimiento el uso marcado de aceptación. La muestra analizada proviene del PRESEEA (lengua oral) y del CORPES siglo XXI (lengua escrita y oral). “Dale” MD muestra amplia distribución en los países hispanohablantes. Se registró en Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, El Salvador, España, Honduras, México, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Perú, Uruguay y Venezuela. Sobre las cinco zonas dialectales de la América hispánica, en la zona del Río de la Plata y Chaco es más frecuente su uso y más productivo el contexto de aceptación/acuerdo.

There is a coincidence between the global proposal of variational pragmatics (Schneider and Barron 2008) and the prototypical cognitive approach (in agreement with Langacker 1987 and Lakoff 1987), in that they both focus on a cultural and situational choice of the forms and on the discourse dependence of grammar. In view of the following, this paper aims to quantify and describe the context in which “dale” is used as a discourse marker (DM) in different Spanish-speaking countries. Given the frequency of appearance, we are able to identify two contexts in variation: acceptance/agreement and encouragement to take a course of action. They are described in opposition, placing special emphasis on the use of acceptance. The sample comes from the PRESEEA (oral language) and from the CORPES XXI century written and oral language). “Dale” is a widely used DM in different Spanishspeaking countries. It was found in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, El Salvador, España, Honduras, México, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Perú, Uruguay and Venezuela. Of the five dialectical areas of Hispanic America, the area of the Río de la Plata and Chaco is where it is mostly used and where the context of acceptance/agreement is more productive.
