Poder, identidad y dominación en Los Ríos profundos de José María Argüedas

Abstract

El trabajo analiza las marcas discursivas de la novela Los ríos profundos de José María Argüedas en cuanto autor referente del indigenismo latinoamericano. Se indaga en varios problemas que aborda la novela. Por una parte, se encuentra la transculturación, cuyo origen es la mixtura entre lo europeo y lo indígena para dar forma a una nueva cultura con expresiones residuales y emergentes que la dotan de singularidad. En segundo orden, se ubican las formas simbólicas que mantienen en el sometimiento a los pueblos originarios del Alto Perú respecto del poder erigido sobre las viejas estructuras heredadas colonialismo. En tercer orden, el relato aborda las tensiones existentes en los procesos de resistencia de los quechuas mediante las sublevaciones armadas, así como en los cánticos de las fiestas de las chicherías. Se concluye que el planteo de Argüedas sigue vigente para (re)visitarse e incluso (re)interpretarse en el marco de la vigencia de sus planteamientos éticos y estéticos.

This paper analyzes the discursive marks of the novel Los ríos profundos of José María Argüedas as representative author of the Latin American indigenism. It is investigated in several problems proposed by the novel. In the fi rst order, transculturation is found, whose origin is the mixture between the european and the indigenous to shape a new culture with residual and emerging expressions that endow it with uniqueness. In second order, the work located the symbolic forms that maintain the submission to the original peoples of Alto Peru with respect to the power erected over the old structures inherited colonialism. Finally, the story the story is involved in the tensions that exist in the resistance processes of the Quechuas through armed uprisings, as well as in the chants of chicherías parties. It is concluded that Argüedas’s proposal is still valid for visiting and even interpreting within the framework of the validity of its ethical and aesthetic proposals.
