An Approach to Assist Developers to Annotate Web Services with Ontologies

Abstract

Web Service standards and ontologies represent the basic blocks forbuilding a world-wide network of computer-understandable resources.The process of linking Web Services to ontologies, a.k.a. annotation, hasbeen identified as a hard task. This paper presents a novel approach to annotate Web Services, which is based on linking services to ontologies that have been used for annotating similar services in the past. We discuss related work, describe the proposed approach and present experimental results. The reported experiments show the feasibility of the approach to annotate 100 real word services.
