La teoría de los actos de habla y su relevancia sociológica

Abstract

La tradición sociológica clásica no se ha detenido en el lenguaje como un problema fundamental; la sociología contemporánea, por el contrario, se ha planteado la necesidad de centrarse en el estudio del lenguaje humano para poder comprender la realidad social e institucional. Desde Habermas hasta Luhmann, pasando por Giddens y Bourdieu, los sociólogos han dado cuenta de esa actividad exclusivamente humana que crea nuestro “mundo” (para emplear un término de Heidegger). A pesar de ello, no se han centrado estrictamente en la filosofía analítica del lenguaje; esta tradición es la que mejor ha sabido dar cuenta del lenguaje humano. La sociología actual, entonces, debe tomar sus argumentos centrales para lograr una mejor comprensión de la realidad social e institucional.

The classical sociological tradition has not stopped in language as a fundamental problem; contemporary sociology, on the other hand, has raised the need to focus on the study of human language in order to understand social and institutional reality. From Habermas to Luhmann, through Giddens and Bourdieu, sociologists have realized that exclusively human activity that creates our "world" (to use a Heidegger term). Despite this, they have not focused strictly on the analytical philosophy of language; this tradition is the one that has been able to better account for human language. Current sociology, then, must take its central arguments to achieve a better understanding of social and institutional reality.
