Cartografiar el socialismo: Distribución espacial y evolución numérica de los centros del PSA (1894-1910)

Abstract

En los últimos años, los trabajos dedicados a la historia temprana del socialismo argentino han ido en aumento. Aún queda mucho por hacer, sin embargo, en la perspectiva de analizar con más detalle el grado de penetración política y organizativa del PS en distintos puntos del territorio. Este artículo tiene como objetivo cartografiar la distribución espacial de los locales y centros políticos socialistas en el territorio argentino en el período 1894-1910. Para ello, recopila los datos aportados por la prensa partidaria respecto a la ubicación de los locales, sistematiza esa información en una base de datos y vuelca esos resultados en una serie de mapas.

In recent years, an increasing number of researchers have examined the early history of Argentine socialism. There is still much to be done, however, to analyze in more detail the degree of political and organizational penetration of the Socialist Party in different parts of the country. The goal of this article is to map the spatial distribution of the socialist political centers in the Argentine territory in the period 1894-1910. To do so, the article collects data provided by the party press regarding the location of the socialist centers, systematizes that information in a database and shows those results in a series of maps.
