Resumen

The order Coprothermobacterales belonging to the phylum Coprothermobacterota constitutes one of the primary lines of descent in the bacterial domain. The order is currently represented by a single family and genus. Non-motile rods. Stains Gram-negative. Non-spore-forming. Strictly anaerobic, thermophilic. Chemoorganotrophs. Proteolytic fermenters that produce acetic acid, H2 and CO2 as the main end products. Able to reduce thiosulfate but not sulfate to sulfide.
