Las preocupaciones católicas en tiempos de cambio: autovaloración y modelos de acción social en la revista Criterio (Argentina), entre 1955 y 1958

Abstract

Criterio, revista católica de difusión en los sectores medios de la sociedad argentina, es utilizada como fuente para saber si, durante los últimos años del pontificado de Pío XII, publicó artículos de autores europeos que criticaban la conducta de los católicos y si aparecían experiencias de acción social con características secularizadas. La respuesta afirmativa a esta búsqueda permite una mejor comprensión de la temprana influencia europea en el desarrollo de algunos tópicos del tercermundismo latinoamericano.

Criterio, catholic magazine, broadcast media sectors of society in Argentina, is used as a source to see if, during the last years of the pontificate of Pius XII, European authors published articles criticizing the behaviour of Catholics and whether they experience social action imma- nentists features. The answer to this search allows a better understanding of the early European influence in the devel- opment of some topics of the “Third Latin American.” For authors and Hispanic experiences in general, see the concern for poverty and social actions of the first magnitude, but en- couraged by the church hierarchy. As observed in Argentina is also concern for the evangelization of the workers and the implementation of social experiences generated by priests like imitating Europe.
